How to Request

I will accept commissions for art pieces.  Choose the subject you wish.  Bring a photo of the scene.  I will edit the image to choose the scene that I find interesting to paint.  All I ask is the price of the art materials: canvas (from Masterpiece Canvas) and oils (from M. Graham) and sketch materials (charcoal/paper/oil).  The process includes a charcoal sketch, a small preliminary oil sketch and then the final oil painting.  The art work is done for my pleasure and hopefully yours as well.  The art work takes approximately a month to complete.  Please email if you are interested.  Here are two examples of commissioned oil paintings.

Example 1

The commission was based upon a photo taken by the son of the person requesting the art piece.  This piece took approximately a month to finish. The work included a charcoal sketch and an oil sketch before working on the final oil painting.   The charcoal sketch enabled me to understand the scenery and the oil sketch to practice the range of color.

Example 2

The person took a photo of a this scene in San Simeon.  I cropped the image down to focus on the fountain set alongside the trees, hills and ocean.  I did a colored pencil study and then a watercolor before turning to this oil painting.  The study allowed me to understand the scenery and the watercolor to practice the color range.
